About
Us

SEMI-THERM is an international forum dedicated to the thermal management and characterization of electronic components and systems. It provides knowledge covering all thermal length scales from IC to facility level. The symposium fosters the exchange of knowledge between thermal engineers, professionals and leading experts from industry as well as the exchange of information on the latest academic and industrial advances in electronics thermal management.

Founded by Bernie Siegal of Thermal Engineering Associates and Bonnie L. Crystall and Walter Schuch of C/S Communications, Inc. SEMI-THERM was launched in December 1984 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Phoenix, Arizona. SEMI-THERM brought the industry the latest innovations in technology and products in thermal measurement, modeling and management.

Philosophy

To cultivate a world-class symposium dedicated to advancing the science and technology of semiconductor thermal management. We foster an environment of innovation, collaboration, and lasting connections, where industry professionals, researchers, and engineers come together to exchange knowledge, solve challenges, and build connections.

Educational
Foundation

The SEMI-THERM Educational Foundation (STEF) is committed to advancing global educational opportunities and resources for the electronics thermal engineering community. Our mission is to provide ongoing professional development, foster technical networking, and promote collaboration between academia and industry to drive innovation and excellence.

STEF is led by dedicated volunteers from the thermal industry. While many contribute year after year, we actively welcome fresh perspectives from new volunteers eager to take on roles as committee members or chairs, ensuring continued growth and diversity in our leadership.

To support this mission, STEF sponsors and operates the annual SEMI-THERM Symposium and Exhibition, which serves as a central platform for knowledge sharing and industry engagement.
